US govt files lawsuit against Google for monopoly over internet search, online advertising
The United States government has filed an antitrust lawsuit against tech giant Google. The Department of Justice has accused the company of violating competition law to preserve its monopoly over internet searches and online advertising. Eleven states of the US have joined the lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice. According to the information, Google controls 90 per cent search market share. It is the biggest lawsuit against a tech company in the last two decades. Earlier, Brussels had sued Google thrice in the past three years. Some say the lawsuit was filed against Google with a political agenda.
