17-10-2020 Sat 11:11
Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar on Saturday said it is not new for chief ministers to write letters to the chief justices of the Supreme Court against judges. Speaking to the media in Rajahmundry, Arun Kumar said that the then Chief Minister Damodaram Sanjeevaiah had complained to the then Union Home Minister Lal Bahadur Sastri against the then combined AP High Court Chief Justice P Chandra Reddy.
He mentioned that one BSA Swamy of Amalapuram had published a book in 2005 giving detailed accounts of judges' proximity to politicians. Arun said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy might have written the letter to the CJI after taking legal opinion.
