Vemuri Harikrishna Prasad reacts on AP Fiber Grid scam

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh alleged Fiber Grid scam intensifying the political heat in the state and leaders are busy on throwing hammer and tongs on each other. State Cabinet sub-committee found that Rs 2,000 crore scam took place in AP Fiber grid project undertaken by the previous government. On Sunday, Vemuri Hari Krishna Prasad, the then technical advisor of previous government reacted to the allegations. Addressing the media conference, Vemuri Hari Krishna said that the then minister Lokesh signed MoU in Fiber grid file as the then CM Chandrababu Naidu was not available at that time. Later, he changed his words and said that Lokesh didn't sign the project. He said that he was not a part of the Fiber grid project committee and added that he is a technical advisor. Vemuri further added that they purchased each setup-box for Rs 3,700 and added that he is not having any association with the company which acquired the project. Andhra Pradesh State Fiber Net Limited (APSFL) project implemented to provide internet, Tv and telephone connection facilities to houses in the state. More than 7 companies participated in tenders of 10 lakh setup boxes. Vemuri Hari Krishna Prasad said that he is ready for trial regarding the case. YSRCP government requested the Centre to investigate the irregularities in Fiber grid project.
