WEST GODAVARI: Heavy rains from the past three days crippled normal life in various districts in Andhra Pradesh and several streams overflowing inundating the nearby villages. According to the reports, due to heavy pours, Eluru, Chavuta canal, Suddagadda streams are in spate and inundating the low lying areas. irrigation officials lifted the gates of the Yeleru reservoir and it caused damage to Pitapuram, Gollaprolu and other low lying areas. The heavy rains flooded acres of paddy fields in the district and cause severe damage to the farmers. Jalleru reservoir in West Godavari is in spate with rainwater. Road connectivity between villages was cut off due to the floodwater. Unexpected floods from Tammileru inundated Eluru and its surrounding areas.
