Trump signs new order on H-1B visa hiring, blow to Indian techies
In a huge blow to Indian IT professionals eyeing the US job market, President Donald Trump on Monday signed an executive order preventing federal agencies from contracting or subcontracting foreign workers -- mainly those on H-1B visa -- from hiring. The federal agencies have to hire only American natives and green card holders in the contract and subcontract works. The White House said that the decision was taken to provide jobs to those who have lost in the wake of novel and deadly coronavirus pandemic. Some federal agencies are opposing Trump’s decision.
