Andhra Pradesh creates history with three capitals- LIVE
Andhra Pradesh Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan has approved the three capitals Bills on Friday. With the approval of the Governor, Visakhapatnam will become the State Executive Capital. Amravati will be the legislative capital, and Kurnool will be the judicial capital. On January 20th, the AP Assembly approved the Andhra Pradesh Decentralisation and Inclusive Development of All Regions Bill, 2020, and the AP Capital Region Development Authority Repeal Bill, 20. These bills could not be passed in the AP Legislature. The State Assembly approved the two bills for the second time on June 16th. Subsequently, the Legislature sent these bills to the Select Committee. In the wake of this, the state government led by CM YS Jagan sent the bills to the governor for approval in less than three weeks. The governor approved the bills after consultation with judicial officials. With the governor's consent, Andhra Pradesh will have three capitals. Watch the video for more insight.
