CM KCR takes key decisions on education system in Telangana
Telangana CM KCR said the government would formulate a schedule of joint entrance exams so that students do not lose a valuable academic year. In a review meeting held at Pragathi Bhavan in the presence of education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and other officials, CM KCR took some key decisions. He said the state government would formulate and implement a long-term strategy required to strengthen public educational institutions ultimately. CM KCR has directed the concerned authorities to hold an immediate meeting with academics and subject matter experts to gather their views and suggestions. CM KCR has suggested following the guidelines of UGC, AICTE etc. while conducting the exams for a degree, the postgraduate and engineering final year students. CM KCR said the government would follow the guidelines of the management of various educational institutions, administration of examinations, syllabus etc. in the context of corona crisis. Telangana CM believed that the exploitation of education in the name of knowledge could be curtailed only by significantly improving the performance of government educational institutions in the state. It has been decided to promote the rest of the classes without conducting any examination in the present context. Officials have been reportedly advised to start the academic engineering year from August 17. CM KCR said the government would soon take a final decision on what to do in the state after examining the Centre's guidelines.The final official report of the state government is awaited on these educational aspects that were discussed in the review meeting on Thursday.
