Speaking to the media, Minister Perni Nani said on Wednesday that the cabinet has passed a resolution for setting up a committee with the Chief Secretary as panel head for creation of new districts. The state government wants to create 12 new districts by March 31 next year. Nani stated that the committee will submit a report to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy after taking all aspects into consideration. “Our intention is to form new districts for the benefit of people with minimum expenditure,” he mentioned. However, YSRCP MLA Dharmana Prasada Rao had opposed the split of Srikakulam district into two.
