ESI scam: Ex-minister Pithani’s son bail plea rejected by AP High Court
The AP High Court on Monday refused to grant anticipatory bail to Suresh, son of former TDP minister Pithani Satyanarayana, in Rs 150 crore ESI scam. The ACB filed cases against Suresh and Satyanarayana’s personal secretary Murali alleging their role in the scam. The investigating agency took Murali into custody and a search is going on to arrest Suresh. The ACB claims that former minister and present TDP MLA Atchannaidu had recommended the name of the firm for which teleservices contract has to be given. The contract was executed when Satyanarayana was minister, the ACB said. However, the ACB did not include the name of Satyanarayana in the scam.
