Explained: Airborne transmission of coronavirus and how you can stay safe
More than 200 scientists have recently submitted that the novel coronavirus can remain suspended in smaller droplets called aerosols. They opined that these could be released when an infected person breathes or talks. WHO has acknowledged that there is specific evidence that exists for the airborne spread of the coronavirus.
When infected persons speak or cough, the bigger and heavier ones do not travel much or remain in the air, they settle down. It is advised to maintain a distance of 2 meters or six feet. It is said that tiny droplets remain suspended in the air for a longer duration. Anyone who inhales these tiny droplets can catch the disease.
