India to purchase 33 Fighter Jets from Russia

NEW DELHI: Amid India-China standoff, the Indian government gave a green signal to purchase 21 MiG-29 fighter planes and 12 newer Sukhoi-30MKI. According to the sources, the deal to purchases the defence weapons costs Rs 38,900 crores. Sources said that the Indian government ordered 21 MiG-29 fighter planes and 12 Russia made Sukhoi-30MKI.

It is learnt that the government decided to upgrade the existing 59 MiG-29 fighter aircrafts. The deal comes to become a crucial decision during the Indo-China border tensions. It is said that the DRDO's Astra missile will include into the defence system. Click the video for more information.
