High Court gives green signal to demolish Telangana secretariat
It is a significant relief to the Telangana government as the state High Court has given a green signal to the CM KCR led government for the construction of new state Secretariat buildings. The Court on Monday dismissed the petitions filed against the demolition of the existing state Secretariat buildings complex situated at Saifabad in the city. The Telangana secretariat building has a history of fifty years and 18 CMs ruled the state while carrying out their administration from here. Congress MLA T Jeevan Reddy, advocate T Rajinikanth Reddy and an NGO represented by its secretary M Padmanabha Reddy, Congress MP A Revanth Reddy and Prof PL Vishweshwar Rao are some of the petitioners who challenged the cabinet decision to demolish and construct new buildings in its place.
