Nimmagadda Ramesh to file contempt petition against AP govt in HC

Former State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has decided to file a contempt petition against the AP government in the AP High Court on Monday for not reappointing him as the SEC on its directions. The HC struck down the ordinance issued by the state government reducing the term of Ramesh Kumar. Even, the Supreme Court did not give stay on the Special Leave Petition filed by the AP government and State Election Commission. Advocate General S Sriram said that the government had approached the Apex Court to seek clarification on the HC orders regarding appointment of the SECs.
