Liquor sales drop in AP with abnormal hike in prices
The sale of liquor has dropped in Andhra Pradesh with the abnormal increase in rates by the state government. It was an election promise by the YSRCP to ban liquor sale in a phased manner. The liquor shops in the previous government were 4,380. Now, the AP government has reduced to 2,986. The government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to reduce liquor shops furthermore. The reduction of sale timings has also impacted the drop in liquor sales. However, the AP government is getting almost the same revenue now compared to the past.
