Chhattisgarh first CM Ajit Jogi passes away

Ajit Jogi, the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, passed away in a private hospital in Raipur on Friday afternoon after suffering two cardiac arrests. Twenty days ago, he was admitted to the private hospital with ill-health. He served as chief minister of Chhattisgarh from 2000 to 2003 after the state came into being on November 1, 2000. Jogi had completed his engineering from NIT, Raipur. In 2016, the 74-year-old Ajit broke with the Congress and formed his own party by name Janata Congress Chhattisgarh. Ajit Jogi is survived by wife Renuka Jogi and son Amit Jogi.
