The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday struck down the ordinance of reducing the tenure of the State Election Commissioner (SEC) issued by the AP government and instructed the government to reappoint Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as State Election Commissioner (SEC). The court also dismissed all the GOs released with regard to the appointment of new SEC. Responding to the verdict, former minister and BJP leader Kamineni Srinivas Rao said that judgement has reposed the people’s faith in judiciary. Rao stated that he filed a petition with the consent of AP BJP chief Kanna Lakshminarayana.
