AP High Court orders status quo on deforestation of Mada forest

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday has issued status quo orders on deforestation of Mada forests in Andhra Pradesh. According to the sources, two fishermen filed a petition in the court seeking justice on deforestation of Mangroove forest in Kakinada, East Godavari. The court heard the petition through video conference and the petitioner's lawyer asserted that it is against the law to cut down the Mada forest which is protecting the coastal area from natural calamities.

After hearings, the HC issued the status quo on the deforestation of Mada forest and ordered the government to submit the counter within four weeks. Click the video for more information.
