Amid Protests, 3-Day Andhra Assembly Session May Shelve Capital Amaravati
The YSR Congress government led by the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to shelve the master plan for a futuristic capital at Amaravati amid protests against the proposal. A three-day special session of Andhra Pradesh assembly is all set to begin amid tight security outside, especially in the Guntur district. Prohibitory orders have been issued in the capital region of villages. Reportedly, the assembly session will begin at 11 am after the YS Jaganmohan Reddy cabinet meets at 9 am.
