13-11-2019 Wed 11:21
The AP government’s decision to introduce English as a medium of instruction from first to sixth classes in government schools from the next academic year onwards has evoked mixed response. Teachers working in government schools say that the government should continue Telugu medium in government schools even after the introduction of English medium as it may be helpful for students, who cannot understand English at all. While welcoming the government’s decision, a parent said that children of the poor will get a chance to study and work in foreign countries. In a review meeting, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials concerned to integrate CBSE and ICSE syllabus with state board curriculum.
