US state & local elections: Four Indian-origins including one from Hyd win big

Four Indian-origins, including a Muslim woman and a former White House technology policy advisor, have won state and local elections held in the USA on Tuesday (November 5). They are Ghazala Hashmi, Suhas Subramanyam, Mano Raju and Dimple Ajmera. Hashmi, who was born in Hyderabad, is the first Muslim woman to win the Virginia State Senate elections. She moved to the US 50 years ago along with her family. Hashmi, a mother of two, worked as a professor at a community college.
