22 gates of Nagarjuna Sagar lifted due to heavy inflow
The two major rivers Godavari and Krishna are in spate in the two Telugu states. Following the rainfall in the upper regions, the rainwater has been reaching the various projects which are situated downward. The Officials of Nagarjunasagar have released over 3 lakh cusecs water to downstream by lifting 22 gates of the project at a height of 10 feet. The inflows of the project reached 3.3 lakh cusecs from the upper stream( Srisailam dam). The present water level of Sagar reservoir is 310.25 TMC against the tank level of 312 TMC. People have thronged to Nagarjunasagar to see and enjoy the beauty of Sagar and other surrounding areas.
