US House passes bill removing country cap on Green Card
It is good news for countries like India as the US House of Representatives has eliminated the country-wise caps on employment-based immigrant visas. Indian professionals will benefit from it as they have been waiting for Green Card for more than a decade. The bill increases the per-country cap on family-based green cards from the existing 7% of all green cards issued in any year to 15%. As the House has passed a law eliminating caps, the Senate needs to pass a comparable bill before it can become law.
