Qatar Airways CEO Akbar-al-Baker has revealed to the media that they had refused to use the A320 aeroplane engine as they had technical issues, even as Indian private airlines continue to use them. This refusal was done 3 years ago and they had prefered to wait for rectification of engines rather than risk accidents due to the faulty engines, he mentioned. The DGCA secret report reveals 69 inflight shutdowns since March 2016. However, press release by DGCA says only 12 inflight shutdowns from March 2016.
