India hits back after President Trump’s jibe on Afghanistan

After US President Trump ridiculed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India for sending aid to Afghanistan, the Indian government hit back saying that India’s development assistance to the war-torn country which exceeds 3 billion dollars could transform human lives there. This comes after President Trump had mocked India for building what he incorrectly called a library in Afghanistan. The US wants India to play a bigger security role in the war-devastated country. India has consistently resisted deploying active military personnel except as part of UN missions.
