Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Alice Wells said that Donald Trump considers India as a true friend. She highlighted the steps taken by the United States of America (USA) to strengthen ties with India, for a broader Indo-Pacific region. She made these remarks at farewell reception hosted by the State Department, in honour of Indian Ambassador to the US, Navtej Singh Sarma. Stating that President Trump called India a true friend, she said that US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo has described Indo-US relations as 'an honour of shared values.'
