Naidu fielded Venu Madhav in Kodad constituency to split votes?
Comedian Venu Madhav has filed nomination for Kodad Assembly constituency as an independent. The TDP sources say TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu reportedly asked Venu Madhav to contest as an independent candidate. In the last minute, the Congress high command had allocated Kodad ticket to TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy’s wife Padmavathi. TDP leader Mallaiah Yadav, who was expecting a ticket, had joined the TRS as Padmavathi was declared as Kutami candidate. Expecting Mallaiah Yadav might split TDP vote bank, Chandrababu fielded Venu Madhav as an independent to attract votes of TDP.
