Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, Urjit Patel has met Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on November 9th, to discuss possible solutions to contentious issues that have caused a rift and spilled over. The rift is over issues like quantum of reserves to be held by the Central Bank, Non-Performing Assets (NPA) norms, insolvency proceedings against power companies and interest rates. All these have triggered a heated discussion about RBI's autonomy and powers. Patel has also met Union minister, Arun Jaitley as well, it is said.
