RBI stopped printing of Rs 2,000 notes?

The latest statistical data of the RBI has given an indication that it may stop printing Rs 2,000 notes in future so that circulation of big note comes down drastically. The share of Rs 2,000 denomination note in circulation has come down from 50 per cent to 37 per cent. The indent submitted by RBI for printing Rs 2,000 note has also dropped significantly. The move to stop printing Rs 2,000 notes is to curb the corruption. The circulation of Rs 500 note increased to 43 per cent from 23 per cent.
