Small businesses are struggling to make their ends meet in the aftermath of the horrifying floods that swept through Kerala, as festivities were cancelled and flowers went stale. Flower shops and markets seem to be the hardest hit. As floods water receded, life in various parts of Kerala returned to normalcy and shop owners are re-opening their shops for business. Shop owners in Thiruvananthapuram are trying to cope with the recent decision made by the state government to refrain from celebrating Onam this year, considering the current situation.
