According to Prof K Nageshwar, former Prime Minister and BJP patriarch Atal Bihari Vajpayee was accepted by all political parties despite the BJP was seen as the political untouchable party in those years. “Vajpayee was highly consensual figure whereas Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a highly polarising figure,” he stated. Nageshwar said Vajpayee answer for forming a coalition government at Centre was to get along with other political parties is the best solution when India is united in diversity. Vajpayee was consensus builder even though he was associated with the RSS and Sangh Parivar, Nageshwar said.
