Rajiv murder: 7 convicts cannot be released, says Centre
The Centre refused to allow release of seven convicts in former prime minister, Rajiv Gandhi murder case. In a reply to Supreme Court (SC) the Centre said that release of the convicts would send a wrong message to the world. Earlier, SC urged the Centre for its opinion, on a plea by Tamil Nadu (TN) government to release the seven convicts. They are in jail from the past 27 years. The President too has rejected the appeal by TN government to release the convicts.
