500 Telugus in jail in Gulf for failure to pay fines
Telugus who have gone to Gulf countries in search of better prospects are suffering due to many reasons. Most of them are not regularised and are not drawing the requisite amounts. Addedd to their woes, they do not know how to go back to their home towns or villages. Amnesty and APNRD are trying to create this awareness among them and bring them back or train them to utilise their skills for a better livelihood. It is learnt that at least 500 Telugus are in jails as they are unable to pay the fines.
