US Senate Passes Bill to Waive Sanctions Against India for Buying Russian Arms
The US Senate on Wednesday passed a defense spending bill which is otherwise known as the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2019. The bill gave much relief to India. The said Bill provides waiver relief to key US partners and allies including India from certain Russian-related sanctions under the Countering America’s Adversaries through Sanctions Act (CAATSA). The said Bill is sent to President Donald Trump for his signature, who is not expected to withhold approval. The White House has already extended support to the bill.
