Indian American Katragadda Aruna defeated in primary polls
Indian American Katragadda Aruna Miller lost the Democratic primary for Maryland's open 6th Congressional District to businessman 62-year-old David Trone. A civil engineer by profession, Aruna Miller had migrated to the US from India when she was seven-years-old. She married Miller after finishing her college. David Trone defeated Aruna with 5,544 votes. Aruna was able to spend Rs 16 crore in elections while David Trone had spent Rs 65 crore. After the defeat, Aruna thanked her husband, three daughters, relatives and supporters for striving hard for her victory.
