Vijay Mallya asked to pay legal costs to Indian banks
The UK High Court has ordered embattled liquor tycoon Vijay Mallya to pay a minimum of 2 lakh pounds towards the costs incurred by 13 Indian banks in their legal battle to recover alleged dues. The consortium of 13 Indian banks led by State Bank of India have argued in the High Court to freeze Mallya’s assets worldwide for recovering Rs 9,380 crore in loans. Lawyers of Mallya have argued in the High Court that charges pressed by the consortium of Indian banks were without substance.
