The recent decision by the Modi-government at the Centre, to appoint private sector personnel at the level of joint secretary, instead of selecting from the UPSC cadre, is facing a lot of flak. Dalit IAS officers are furious over the decision. They said that it would make UPSC and reservations redundant. Even some Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in the Centre are finding fault with the party and the goverment. Dalits have decided to protest against this from August 15 onwards, when the monsoon session of Parliament would begin.
