Chandrababu writes to Jaitley over service tax on bank transactions
In a letter written to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has faulted the Central government for collecting the service tax on bank transactions. Recently, the Directorate General of Goods & Services Tax Intelligence (DGGSTI) served notices to 20 banks asking them to pay service tax on transactions. He faulted the DGGSTI for asking to pay service tax on all transactions from 2012 to 2017. Chandrababu stated that customers will face difficulties if the service tax is collected on transactions.
