In the wake of all surveys predicting a hung Assembly in Karnataka that went to polls on May 12th, the way the Telugu people in the state will vote has turned out crucial. Counting has begun and early trends show that there is a tough fight between Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with Janata Dal (Secular), JDS not far behind. Even 2,000 votes this way or that could make a lot of difference. At least 15 per cent of the population in Karnataka are Telugus, spread in at least 12 districts in that state.
