Food Inspector face-to-face on chemicals use to ripen mangoes
Even though carbide was banned as chemical to ripen fruits three years ago, the mango fruit sellers are using some China chemicals which are also toxic. Food Inspector, Chandrasekhar Rao who surveyed the marketyard at Kedareshwarapeta, in Vijayawada, said that some fruit sellers were using toxic chemicals for the ripening of fruits. He said that strict action would be taken against the sellers of the chemicals as well as the vendors. The chemicals might harm the intestines, thereby damaging vital organs, he said.
