A Russian cargo plane lost around $378 million in gold bars after they fell from its hatch while the aircraft was taking off on Thursday from Yakutsk airport in Eastern Siberia. The Nimbus Airlines cargo plane was reportedly en route to Krasnoyarsk when its loading hatch broke down, throwing some 200 gold bars as far as 26 kilometres from the airport. According to Russian media, 172 gold bars from the missing 200 were found. Following the incident, the plane safely landed at Magan airport near Yakutsk.
