All cinema theatres in both Telugu states will remain shut from March 1st onwards, as per a decision taken by South Indian Film Producers, at a meeting in Bengaluru yesterday. The producers said that this is in protest of the high rates being charged by Digital Service Providers (DSP) for their content. The producers said that they will stop giving content to DSPs from March 1st, if they do not reduce at least 25 per cent of the existing rates. All other associated sectors, like exhibitors, distributors and theatre owners have decided to support the producers' agitation.
