The Telangana government wants to provide input investment of Rs 4,000 per acre to each farmer for cultivation in Kharif. As the scheme is a prestigious one, the state government wants to ensure no shortage of funds. Around Rs 6,000 crore is needed for the scheme in the May month. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who is in Delhi, will meet Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday and seek permission to allow the state for borrowing. The Telangana government may borrow Rs 28,000 crore.
