GHMC's water ATMs get good response
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has tied up with an international NGO named Safe Water Network for launching water ATMs in Hyderabad. These water ATMs will provide affordable, 24x7 safe water access in Hyderabad. Dilsukhnagar, Malakpet, RTC Cross Roads, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital premises in Banjara Hills, L. V. Prasad Eye Institute are the areas where Water ATMs have been launched initially. So far 40 Water ATMs have been launched and very soon 30 more Water ATMs will be launched. There is a target of launching 500 Water ATMs in the city, it is learned. Consumers can collect water that is affordably priced at Rs 1 for 1/2 litre, Rs 2 per litre, Rs 5 per 10 litres and the like. People of the city have been expressing their happiness with this noble initiative.
