RBI may stop printing Rs 2,000 notes, says SBI report
The SBI report says the RBI may stop printing Rs 2,000 notes. The currency value of small notes in the present market is 35 per cent. Excluding the small currency notes, the big notes worth 13.32 lakh crore were in circulation by December 8. There are rumours that the Central government may demonetise Rs 2,000 notes. The sources say the RBI had printed the Rs 2,000 currency note to ensure availability of cash soon after demonetisation. The Central government rubbished the rumours of Rs 2,000 note demonetisation.
