Printing presses demand Rs 577 crore from RBI as compensation for demonetisation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced Demonetisation on 8 th of November 2016, withdrawing the Rs 1000/- and Rs 500/ - currency notes. The printing presses under government, which print the currency are demanding the loss of Rs 577 crores, which incurred to them, due to this decision. The printing presses are stating that currency paper, along with ink which were imported from various countries to print the withdrawn currency had gone waste.
