The Election Commission directed the Returning Officer to file a case against YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy for making objectionable remarks on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. In an election campaign in Nandyal Assembly constituency, Jaganmohan Reddy said that Chandrababu should be shot dead for cheating people as he failed to fulfil poll promises. The EC stated that Jagan had violated the model code of conduct. The TDP leaders lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer and the Central Election Commission to take action against Jaganmohan Reddy.
