UK elects first female Sikh and first turbaned MP
At a time, when the racism factor plays an ugly role in some of the countries but in the UK, the political scenario is something different and encouraging. In the recent UK general election, Britain got its first female Sikh MP and first turban-wearing MP. With this, there is a slight increasing of the number of Indian-origin MPS in the House of Commons and now it is increased from 10 to a record 12. Out of 12, seven includes from the Labour Party and five from the Conservative Party.
