Supreme Court (SC) has held liquor baron Vijay Mallya guilty of 'Contempt of Court.' This would invite six months of imprisonment. It issued notices to Mallya, to appear before it on July 10th, to present his version. Both Indian and UK governments are making coordinated efforts to bring Mallya back from London. A consortium of banks, to whom Mallya owes crores of rupees towards loans, has issued several notices to Mallya through courts, which he did not respond to. Finally, SC has held him guilty of contempt of court.
