Kedarnath opens: Modi to perform Rudhrabhisekam
Kedarnath temple, the abode of Lord Shiva, in Uttarakhand, has opened after six months of winter. The priests came to the threshold of the temple, from inside and blew the trumpet, signifying the opening of the temple. Soon Prime Minister (PM) Modi will be here, to perform Rudrabhisekham to the Lord. Heavy security has been deployed at the temple. The entire area around the hill shrine has been declared as a no-fly zone, until the PM leaves. The locals, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists, are awaiting Modi's arrival. Folk dancers stepped in to the rhythm of the Dholak, as the temple opened. Earlier, Modi was given a warm welcome by the top brass of Uttarakhand, at the airport.
