Six policemen of Odisha tax force died when the vehicle in which they were travelling was blown up in land mine blasts, set up by Maoists, at a culvert on newly constructed National Highway between Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Odisha. Eight others who have been injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. About 13 persons, including three civilians were travelling in two vehicles, when the tragedy occurred. This is the first time that the Maoists have targeted a National Highway, it is learnt. The incident occurred at Mungapoderu, of Sunki in Koraput district of Odisha, on Andhra-Odisha Borders (AOB).
